Changes to normal practice during COVID-19 Pandemic
Public health alert - COVID-19 case confirmed in Port Stephens
21 July 2020 "Hunter New England Local Health District is urging anyone who visited the Salamander Bay Shopping Centre on 15 July to watch for COVID-19 symptoms and get tested should any respiratory symptoms or fever occur.
The warning follows confirmation of a COVID-19 case in Port Stephens area. The new case is a man in his 60s, who is now in isolation. The source of infection was a visitor from Sydney. Anyone in the general Port Stephens area with symptoms of COVID-19 should seek testing.
The Sydney case also visited the Windsor Castle Hotel in East Maitland between 6-8 pm on 13 July. Anyone who visited the hotel during this timeframe, and is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, should seek testing immediately."
As a result, we are advising all our clients to consider telehealth as their first preference where appropriate whilst we have government support. If this is not appropriate, we do have the option for Face to Face sessions with changes to the way our practice would normally operate.
If you are attending the office, please only do so if you have not been to any of the spots that are currently spotlighted as risk areas (ie: the Windsor Castle Hotel on the day or soon after the day in question, Salamander Shopping Centre on the day and soon after the day in question, Sydney or Melbourne). It is expected that you will be self-isolating if any risk of exposure.
When you do attend, please be considerate of the 1 person limit in the waiting room, and arrive close to your appointment time. Please ask your support people to wait outside or in their cars. The only exception is of course for parents with children. Please wait in the waiting room with your child, Hand sanitisation stations are available and normal hand hygiene expected.
We will continue to monitor and adapt during the constantly evolving situation.
